On September 30, 2025, an event dedicated to Interreg Cooperation Day was held in Timișoara (in the building of the County of Timiş), which gathered numerous dignitaries. On that occasion, outstanding results of Romanian-Serbian projects financed through cross-border cooperation programs of the European Union were highlighted. The project “Cultural tradition of the region Valkanj – Novi Kneževac for the purpose of promoting tourism in the historical Banat”, (CulTour – project code: RORS-395), which was financed through the Interreg-IPA Program of cross-border cooperation Romania-Serbia, was awarded in the category of the best use of EU funds. This project was implemented by the Municipality of Novi Kneževac with the Municipality of Valkanj (Romania) in the period from 2021-2023. year. The recognition was received by the representatives of the partner municipalities on the project, who on that occasion highlighted the ongoing good cooperation and expressed the hope that in the future joint projects will connect the region even better, improve the conditions for the development of infrastructure in all areas and improve the quality of life in local communities.
