Today, in Novi Kneževac, the first conference was held within the project activities that our Municipality is implementing in cooperation with the Municipality of Valkanj (Romania). The conference was attended by representatives of municipalities in Serbia (Novi Kneževac, Čoka and Kikinda) and municipalities in Romania (Valcani, Dudestii Vechi, Beba Veche, Sannicolau Mare), numerous cultural and artistic associations from these places and representatives of the tourist organization of Kikinda.
The project entitled: “Using cultural traditions from Valcani-Novi Knezevac region for the promotion of tourism in historical Banat” which is co-financed by the European Union (85%) through the Interreg-IPA Cross-border Cooperation Program Romania-Serbia, should unite and improve the tourist offer of the region. This conference served to review the work done so far on the tourism study and the creation of a trilingual (RO / SRP / EN) brochure.
The tourist brochure will include the natural and cultural heritage of this region, which will include other project activities (reconstruction of the social center in Valcani, purchase of a mobile stage with lighting and sound system in Novi Kneževac, promo film, website and organization of a new summer festival in our country and during winter in Romania) will certainly provide conditions for tourism development and benefits for local communities on both sides of the border.
